This is an exciting new role in our Development Management team within the Planning Service to provide additional specialist expertise to support planning and ecology colleagues and applicants to successfully delivery BNG, nature recovery and ecological improvements across Stroud district.
The post holder will shape and drive the delivery of biodiversity net gain in the district by addressing the local challenges to its implementation, exploring opportunities and proactively embedding BNG early in the planning process.

About you
You will be a qualified ecologist with demonstrable understanding of the principles of biodiversity net gain, the requirements of the Environment Act and other relevant legislation and policy. Ideally you will have an understanding of the planning process and the ecological context within Development Management.
