This is an exciting time to join Stroud District Council’s Community Services Team as we take the next steps towards delivering our services in an asset-based community development way. This role plays a pivotal role in fostering strong and cohesive communities where residents feel safe, respected, and supported.
About the role
In this role you will act as a friendly face, helping to address various concerns, supporting residents, and building positive relationships. You will be responsible for monitoring and patrolling areas across the district working with the community to prevent and deter anti-social behaviour and criminal activities. When prevention does not work issuing fixed penalty notices, investigating fly-tipping and flyposting incidents.
Working with the most vulnerable residents is a key part of this role and you will be responsible for installing Careline equipment and caring out wellbeing checks in residents’ properties.
We are a forward thinking, dedicated and community focused team and the team you’ll be joining work together with community organisations and residents to create strong, safe and vibrant communities across the district.
About you
You’ll have experience of working in a community facing role that requires excellent communication and strong problem skills and will be passionate and enthusiastic about delivering exceptional customer service whilst working under pressure. You’ll have a sound knowledge and experience of:
· A proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential safety and security risks. A compassionate and trustworthy demeanour, with a commitment to providing exceptional service to the community.
· You will be highly motivated and customer solution focused.
· You’ll be able to use your own initiative to solve problems.
