An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Finance Team at Stroud District Council, for an Accounting Technician/Finance Assistant. This is a wide-ranging role which plays a key part in providing financial support to the budget team and other services within the Council.
About the role
This role covers the preparation, monitoring and control of revenue and capital reconciliations for the General Fund, Government returns and financial systems development. Other functions required include: administration of sundry debtor system, Government procurement cards, weekly payment runs and general business support. The Accounting Technician role will also assist with year-end duties audit processes, and an array of ad-hoc projects that are required within the public sector.
About you
The postholder will be analytical and have experience of carrying out complex reconciliations. A good understanding of general finance and administrative duties, along with excellent communication skills so that key financial information is presented in a clear and concise manner. The ability to manage own time and workloads within deadlines is important, as is the confidence to challenge and investigate data where appropriate.

Please note that the hours per week will be anywhere between 22.2hrs and 29.6hrs (3-4 days per week).
